Geneva Marie Glover, 90, of Weston passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Colonial Place of Elkins following an extended illness. She was born in Glover’s Gap, WV on April 8, 1927: daughter of the late John Francis “Frank” Murtaugh and Ula (Yost) Murtaugh. On July 26, 1949, she married Russell M. Glover, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 17, 1997.
Mrs. Glover is survived by one son: David Glover and wife Terry of Jane Lew, three grandchildren: Wendy Bass and husband Gary of Morgantown, Julie Barker and husband Leroy of Weston and Melissa Fox and husband Hank of Jane Lew and five great grandchildren: Kyleigh and Ryan Bass, Whitney and Cole Barker and Levi Fox. She is also survived by twin brothers: Jim Murtaugh and wife Jeanie of Arcadia, FL and Jack Murtaugh and wife Freda of Grafton, OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Russell, Geneva was preceded in death by one son: Roger L. Glover.
Mrs. Glover was a retired payroll clerk with Fairmont General Hospital of Fairmont, WV. She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church of Weston and while at Colonial Place was being served through St Brendan Catholic Church of Elkins, WV. She was a graduate of Mannington High School and attended Fairmont Business College. Geneva was active with the Teresa Snaith Auxillary of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston, WV and a Travel Club. A special thanks to the Colonial Place Family and Mountain Hospice, Inc. for their wonderful care.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Father Chapin Engler as celebrant. Interment will follow services in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens of Morgantown, WV. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
