Obituary for Francis J. "Frank" Lydon

Francis J. “Frank” Lydon, 71, of 5598 Churchville Road, Camden, WV passed away October 10, 2018. He was born on November 24, 1946 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He was the son of the late John F. and Rita A. (Murray) Lydon. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, John F. Lydon, Jr.
Surviving are his children: John M. Lydon (wife Sandy) of North Ridgeville, Ohio and Sherry M. Havlik of Brunswick, Ohio. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Sarah Cross of Brunswick, Ohio, Madison Lydon and Megan Lydon of North Ridgeville, Ohio. His surviving siblings are James P. Lydon (wife Patricia), Edward L. Lydon (wife Susan) and Rita B. Santos (husband James). Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Michael P. Lydon, Pamela Wood (Travis), Joyce White (Kevin), Janice Lydon, Nancy Campbell (Doug), Laura Colbert (Dave) and James Rhodes and several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lydon graduated from St. Patrick High School, Glenville State, Case Western and Fairmont State.
In his career, he worked as an accountant and manager at Kaiser Pernanete, controller for Higbee Company, senior executive for Premier Industrial Corporation where he was responsible for seven divisions located in 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. He moved to England in 1984 and became the senior executive in charge of eight corporations in England, France, Holland, Germany and Belgium. He had four hundred and five airline flights and numerous rail trips while traveling the “continent”. Following his European employment, he moved back to West Virginia, worked for his brother, Ed, at J & E Contractors and eventually started his own electrical business.
Frank loved flying; he was a private pilot; He was an ardent skier having spent much time on the slopes in West Virginia and the eastern United States.
Along with his regular employment, he was a teacher of accounting and finance at Lorain County Joint Vocational School and at Cleveland State University for four and six years respectively. He held a real-estate license in Ohio and West Virginia.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11 am until 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 p.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston with Reverend James R. DeViese, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow his mass in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV.
