Helen Louwese Ice, 93, of Sassafras Run Weston passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness. She was born in Wheat, WV on October 4, 1921: daughter of the late Benton Blake and Jessie (Lemley) Blake. On March 26, 1942, she married Algie Oral Ice, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1993.
Mrs. Ice is survived by one son: Larry (Linda) Ice of Salem, one daughter-in-law: Helen Ice of Weston, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, Oral, Mrs. Ice was preceded in death by one son: Terry Lee Ice and one sister: Violet Hunt.
Mrs. Ice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include crocheting. Helen was last member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Martin Wine officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Helen may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
